So I quit. I hate caregiving. I hate every part of this. So I quit, simply that. I need to find (someone) who can take this off my shoulders from a paperwork perspective.
I cannot handle one more day of this! I call Hospital's Nurse A who tells me no, to solve this I should call Physical Therapist B. She tells me that no, I really need to talk to Doctor's Nurse C, who insists no, I need to immediately call Surgeon's Nurse D. Each one requires 5-8 rounds of phone tag because in my real life, I'm on the phone at work all day every day. Then, when I finally get Nurse D on the phone she tells me, "Oh, my computer is having issues! What's the patient's name again? And her date of birth...Yes, well, the person you should be talking to is Nurse A at the hospital."
Meanwhile, my stepmom is in constant pain and I have NO CLUE who is lying, what to expect, why they take 2 days to call me back, why the phone tree takes 15 minutes in every case, and why, most of all, everyone's computer is giving them "issues" the minute I call. NO I WILL NOT HOLD! NO I WILL NOT CALL BACK!
Who does this kind of mind numbing repetitive crap for old people? I'm hiring him/her RIGHT NOW. Please advise.

Caveat as POA of everything there’s still so much to do and I still stress out. But delegating things to the care manager has helped a LOT!!
Good luck!
It’s almost as bad as changing an adult poopy diaper!
Almost!

A patient care coordinator or care coordinator is a trained health professional who manages patients' health care, such as the elderly or disabled. Patient care coordinators educate patients about their health conditions and develop a plan to address their personal health care needs. To comply with health care laws and regulations, care coordinators must attend training and courses so that they are updated with the new developments in health care. They are also required to take up licensure examination and should have experience in care coordination or clinical practices.
