My mother says her stomach hurts and has started vomiting and has diarrhea, advice?

My mother says her stomach hurts her all the time. She constantly is rubbing her belly and says she is in pain. She has been diagnosed with Gerd, acid reflux disease. She also has anxiety, dementia and thyroid problems she has a hypothyroid. The last few days she has been vomiting and has diarrhea. She states her stomach hurts and then vomits. We have called the doctors set up appointments that put her on medication and she seems to have gotten worse. Any advice where the pain is coming from? Any similar complaints and results that work for family members?
