My Dad fell again for the 6th time in a few months. All he does is sleep now. I'm just wondering if it's anything to do with falling?

When my mom began to fall it was due to frailty that was no doubt brought on by a gradual decline in appetite and loss of muscle tone due to increasing inactivity. I don't know where your father is in his life journey, this can be reversible in the early stages.

How old is your father. What do doctors say about his diagnosis regarding his mobility and balance. Our balance becomes very impaired with aging. So does our sleep pattern. Elders eat less and sleep more as time progresses. This is something for you to discuss with your Dad's MD. I wish you well.

If he's hit his head when he's fallen he could have a bleed on his brain which could cause him to sleep a lot. You definitely want to take him to have a Cat Scan to rule out a bleed on his brain.
Unfortunately folks with any of the dementias, are prone to falling a lot. You always want them checked out if they've hit their head. Best wishes.

You have no profile which would help determine what sort of situation your father lives in, his age and health, etc. Not having any info to go on makes answering such a question impossible.

My mother is 94 with advanced dementia & lives in Memory Care Assisted Living. In the past 23 months alone, she's fallen 33 times. Each time she falls, she is examined by the nurse and her vital signs are taken. If she hits her head, 911 is immediately called; if she does not hit her head and has normal vital signs and no signs of bruising or skin tears, she's good to go. If your father has been treated the same way after each of his 6 recent falls, then he's likely ok. If he hasn't, I'd get him to the ER for a full medical work up and evaluation to make sure one of those falls did not result in broken bones or internal bleeding or something similar.

Good luck
