Has anyone dealt with early onset Alzheimer's patient acting like a kid?
He runs through the house talking like a baby and dancing , not making any sense at all. I am at my wits end don't know how long I can take this, also gets up at 5am.
Goodness, I can't imagine living like that. You certainly cannot take this very long. Make sure the doc knows what is going on and don't let him shrug it off.
Yes, they become child like. You should talk to his neurologist about this. Maybe a med will help.
If its getting too much for you, maybe you should look into Memory Care. If you can't afford that, then nice Longterm care facility with Medicaid paying for his care.
Medicaid allows for assets to be split. Your husbands split going towards his care and when its spent down you apply for Medicaid for him. You remain in the home with a car. You get enough from your monthly income (SS and pension) to live on. I am just giving u the basics. You will need a lawyer, well versed in Medicaid, to help you.
