She is 89 years old, lives with my husband and I. Generally good health, dealing with dementia/forgetfulness. She has had UTIs in the past and recently treated with antibiotics with follow up urine check, but did not see the doctor. She feels like she needs help but doesn't know what the doctor could do for her.

Come to find that my previously stable Thyroid functioning has been thrown out of wack by a recalled batch of thyroid replacement hormone.
I recall both my cherished aunts having flip-flop thyroid functioning as they got older, and I intend to have my current LO checked the next time her blood work comes due.
Worth considering, no matter the age. If you’re hormone is off, it just feels as though something isn’t quite right.
By all means get your MIL checked out by the doctor, but realize there may be no 'answer' to her malaise and general complaints of 'not feeling good', as there is no answer to my mother's complaints of the same thing. Old age is not for sissies.
Good luck!

Has she had a full workup lately? Labs will show if iron levels are low, Thyroid and other things. Does she take Cholesterol meds. These can effect the liver. If she hasn't had a Lab workup it wouldn't hurt.
