I doubt it. If he fits the income requirements for Medicaid, you maybe able to get paid thru them or at least get help.
He could pay you but I would have a contract made up if he ever needs Medicaid.
I have been married before and have remarried. Just curious why someone would take care of an X. Are there children and if so are they willing to help? I know ex's who have helped because the children have asked but they don't do the full caring. Of course I am married and doubt if my DH would want my ex in our home. But even if I was single, no way would take care of my ex. But then, I got left to fend for myself and a child, that he paid very little support for. One day married, next day not, literally.
