I’m 61. I had hysterectomy 30 years ago and am suddenly having light spotting. I’m concerned about what could be causing this. Any ideas?

Total hysterectomy
No intercourse for 8-9 years
Pain and pea size knot at opening of uretha.

What kind of spotting? If you have had your uterus, cervix, ovaries and tubes removed any discharge is very likely vaginal atrophy, especially if you have been feeling very dry. I agree that you should call your doctor but not panic.

This is quite a different topic than most posts about caring for an elderly loved one.
Call your doc first thing Monday AM.

I wish you the very best.
