Rapid decline with Alzheimer's. Any ideas?

My dad is 97, living with his 96 year old companion, her son (moved in to help 2 months ago). They also have 24/7 homemaker due to companion 's recovering from fractured pelvis. My dad has become sad, much more forgetful and is now needing assistance in bathroom. He denies he has problem and won't allow help. Wondering if his meds are a problem. Had workup by geriatric team at v.a. 3 weeks ago and using bathroom was not an issue. He takes bl pressure, cholesterol meds and started risperidone and sertaline a month ago. Ideas?

You're being coy about these bathroom issues, what exactly is the problem? He's recently been started on on some pretty heavy duty meds so there must have been a reason for that, are they helping at all with whatever was going on before? I think it is reasonable to review new medications of this type and all side effects should be mentioned to his doctor.
