No ambulance service will help us move her. Only to a hospital or a hospice. I called the Fire D. No one called back.
* Her spine is fused to a straight position, bc she has been in a bed unable to stand for over a yr.
Her carpet is 55 yrs old, full of germs and possible mold.(it was excellent carpet when installed). So new flooring is going to be installed, but she can't be in that room during tear out and install. We will put her in another room for 72 hrs and then put her back in the cleaned up room.
Thanks for any suggestions on transporting her flat. PS. Amazon wants $1k for most gurney's.

If she's in a regular twin-bed get a few strong people and have them carry her into the other room on the mattress. Please have an actual hospital bed waiting for her in the new bedroom. You can also try what cwillie suggested and roll her onto a sturdy blanket and have a few strong people transfer that way.

I realize they haven't returned your call from before, but you'll be calling a different number to reach the BC. He's your best hope.
I am not sure if he could borrow a gurney--they are pretty big and bulky, but there could be ways to move mom without too much drama. Professionals have all kinds of tricks up their sleeves. CWillie mentions one--would that be too painful for mom?
Dad was totally 'frozen', due to Parkinson's and YB was able to move him. I'd give it a shot.
