Has anyone been denied from a memory care facility? I got a call today that he was denied because of past issues.

It depends on what the "past issues" are. (or were)
Violence many facilities will take a hard look and require 30, 60 or more days without incident before they will allow someone to become a resident.
Talk to the Director and find out what exactly the problem is and ask what can be done to correct the problem. If they are going to take a hard pass on admitting him as a resident ask if they are aware of any facility that might be better equipped to handle him.

While I was reseaching memory care facilities I mentioned to the staff person who showed us around that mom had some issues cleaning herself after a bowel movement and often would get feces on the toilet seat, handle, toilet paper roll, wall, lightswitch etc.

Well she passed this info along to the sales coordinator who called me to say they wouldn't be able to put her on the waiting list because of her issues. When I asked what that meant she said she read the notes from the other person who wrote that my mother "had a history of smearing feces on the walls".

I corrected her and explained it was not something she does intentionally and would be so embarrassed and humiliated if anyone but me knew about it. I have never brought it to my moms attention. I just clean it up.

So bad, wrong info was passed along that could have prevented her from getting on the waiting list.

I would find out what "past issues" means exactly.
