I have a special wheelchair used by wife for only about two months. How or where can I sell this?
She was falling off regular wheelchair, built special chair and she did not fall. Wheelchair has a tilt back. Wife used about two months, worked very good never fall off, it cost $ 3,008.00. Wife passed away, chair is for sale.
Most laypeople do not understand the specialization of a wheelchair. When a wheelchair is custom made it has some kind of special fitting for that customer which probably is not appropriate for anyone else. Could not the company that made the wheelchair recycle it or parts of it, and reimburse you some cost? Have you approached any Rehabilitation Centers or Nursing Homes about selling it? Otherwise it is going to be a tough sale because most insurance and Medicare/Medicaid cover the DME cost for patients.
If you are on Facebook they have yardsale features. See if someone in your area has set up a yardsale sight. They also have Marketplace that covers a wider area.
See if her doctors offices allow you to post the info.
You can put an ad on your local Craigslist to see if you can sell the wheelchair; make sure to detail all the special features the w/c has and the price, photos, etc. You may also want to contact the place where you bought the chair to see if they have any outlets for resale.
