Your profile says your in independent living. Are you moving to an Assisted Living or to a Nursing facility? You should ask your question of the place you are going to.
If you are moving into an Assisted Living or Independent Living facility most will allow you to furnish your room the way you wish. And you can bring what personal items you would like. (within reason, I doubt they would want a pottery Kiln brought in) The best thing to do is to contact the facility where you are going to be moving and ask them what you NEED to bring and what you CAN bring. The best thing to do is to contact the facility where you are going to be moving and ask them what you NEED to bring and what you CAN bring.
