Contact your local Senior Center or local Agency on Aging and find out what services that your mom might qualify for. That is your starting point. If mom is a Veteran check with your local Veterans Assistance Commission and see what she would qualify for through the VA. In most cases you , or I should say mom will have to pay for caregivers that will come in and help for whatever hours you need. You can get caregivers through an agency or you can hire privately. If you hire privately pleas fill out proper paperwork so that taxes are taken out and that there is a record of the expense of caring for mom. This may be needed later if you have to apply for Medicaid for her.
