As said, you need to see someone at your County Social Services office. I think that you need to show need by being on Medicaid for health insurance, food stamps or SSI, which usually includes Medicaid.
Its been a while since I worked where I needed to know this information. At one time United Way oversaw the government handout. Churches have food closets. Since COVID, the MidAtlantic career center has been giving out Phiabundance food weekly in my area.
Food commodities are not readily available, ie the butter, cheese, powdered milk, peanut butter that used to be given out by the federal gov. Farmers used to have excess dairy, corn, wheat, peanuts purchased by the gov and then processed and distributed by the gov. As commodities. Now the government pays farmers to not produce excess. I worked with owners of a commercial dairy farm. If they overproduced they dumped milk and were paid by the gov.
Food commodities is an actual box (usually a repurposed banana box) of food, as opposed to the SNAP food stamp EBT Card (electric benefits transfer) that reloads the monthly allowance automatically.
You must sign up for food stamps and tell the case worker you want to get commodity food if available. It is not always a available and not in all areas.

Call your local Area Agency on Aging. CFSP is different from Food Stamps (which is now called SNAP).
