I was my mother's caregiver for 8yrs. I was left with the task of packing her belongings without help. I wasn't able to find work or any help for me. As a result of that, I'm on the verge of being homeless. The one time I need help it seems like there's none available.

Was she a homeowner or a renter? If the former, then the house will take time to settle and the other heirs will have to help if they want to move things along expeditiously.
As far as yourself, I suggest strongly that you contact your county to get on whatever aid you yourself qualify for.
Or try calling 211 for emergency assistance.
