Is it hard to get your mother in a good assisted living with low income?

You are probably looking at Medicaid. You don’t say anything about her assets… that will be used alongside her income until she spends down. Contact your county aged and disability office for support and options.

Yes, the private pay ones. But you can still get her in a MedCal facility if she truly can't live alone anymore.
