Here we go… Anyone else seeing Covid returning to their loved one's facility?

Not a question just a vent. If you recall MIL memory care moved the 3 MC residents to another area of the facility. Although there was nothing to do about it, we were not happy. They moved the residents last Thursday….and it has been a mix of confusion and upset for the 3 residents. Well now we are told Covid cases have been detected and are multiplying rapidly… 2 e-mails within 12 hrs with increases. I don’t think we can do this again….so over Covid!

Omicron went through my MIL's facility in January. All the residents are vacced and boosted. The staff brought it in (because that's who was tested and proven). I can't remember exactly but if any residents were infected, none got very ill, no one required hospitalization and no one died. It does create havoc in the scheduling when they have to quarantine staff, though. There are shortages as it is.

I would not worry too much about each successive variant as they are always more infectious but less deadly. It's the death rates that must be watched, not the infection rates. And the death rates have been dropping with each new variant. Now it's just a matter of the pharma companies making money on unnecessary booster shots, thanks to the government mandates.

Must be the expected surge due to the BA2 sub-variant.
