Mom is going to move to an assisted living facility after living with daughter for 2 years. Do we need to change her physical address?
Should we call Medicare and Social Security and her Medicare Advantage plan to change physical address but keep her mailing address at her daughter's house so daughter can review mail, pay bills, etc.?
Could I ask you the process you went through? Did you actually change his physical address with Social Security to his ALF and continue to get his bills and statements?
If so, did you have to become a Representative Payee?
She lives with her daughter (my sister, who does have POA).
I received all my brother's bills, as his Trustee and POA, at my home. We were not in the same city, and were at opposite ends of the state. He got his personal mail at his ALF. It was kind of a nightmare to arrange it all esp. the medicare and SS stuff. Because we weren't in the same area this was difficult to handle. I would myself not change her address and would take her her personal mail if you are POA and handling all the bills. That's going to be so much easier for all involved.
