Who can I contact regarding an abusive road test agent who mistreated an 84 year old senior?

Molly, contact your department of transportation, they should be able to help you with a name.

Once you have sent the complaint in writing, you can then contact local TV stations about the treatment. But you have to put it in writing or it gets zero consideration.

You would contact your local DMV office. Many are open now so you may be able to walk in and ask for a supervisor. Ours has officers in the office. Maybe you can ask one of them.

Thanks JoAnn. Several people who live in Naperville said they no longer go to Naperville DMV because it
has "gone downhill" and I wish I had known that earlier.

As you most certainly were not on the "road test" with agent and the 84 year old senior, you have only the word of the senior that the road agent was abusive.
More details of what the senior told you about SPECIFIC abuse would help. You are left, of course, with the option of requesting another test with another agent if this one was failed, which I can only guess may have been the case?
The Senior also has the option of contacting supervisory staff, but there had best be some few exact details of abuse included.
Wish you luck. I think everyone of every age is made anxious by testing; it plays into many failures. However, there is a responsibility to the public at large to keep things safe as they can be kept.

Someone higher up at that DMV.

Also, you don't give many other details but it would be helpful to know what they did to him/her exactly. Were they not able to get their license renewed? It would also be important to know if this senior is recounting this incident to you or if you were there when it happened and witnessed it. I'm only bringing this up because, at 84, it is not out of the realm of possibilities that their account is "not accurate" so please be aware of this before you lodge a complaint. Having driving privileges revoked is a flashpoint with almost every senior. Even if you don't "see" any cognitive problems, there is always a first time when it becomes more evident. Been there, done that with my own family members. Bless you for advocating for this person.

Exactly. Since there was a road test, capabilities were obviously in question.

Doesn't excuse or justify abuse, mistreatment or any behavior beyond complete and total professionalism though but, could explain.
