Medications for anxiety and agitation for dementia. Any advice?

The Ativan can be placed in the patient’s mouth and it will dissolve and start working very quickly. It’s a tiny pill and she may not even notice it.

My mom found quite a bit of relief with Ativan .25 mgs and then it was increased to .5 mgs as needed; started at every 6 hours and then every 4 hours as her Sundowning/anxiety & agitation increased in her final 6 months of life.
