Yes it's contagious. I would ask the doctor about what precautions you should take to avoid getting it yourselves once mom is home. I'd change towels after EACH use, and use bleach to clean in the bathrooms, toilets, sinks, etc. CA is medication resistant, so you're best off not catching it to begin with. Wash your hands frequently, too, like Mac suggested.

I get thrush from time to time from using asthma inhalers, which is not quite the same thing as Candida Auris; for what it's worth, I've never transmitted it to my husband, even through kissing.

It is thrush. It can be transmitted by kissing, or sharing dental supplies. A caregiver should wash hands when coming in contact with the site
