Medication for fidgeting and anxiety?

lealonnie1 Sep 2022
Here is your post from 9/13 telling us what medications your spouse is taking and asking if there is any correlation between those meds and her fidgety behavior:

You also have this same post, asking this identical question, dated August 17th with several responses from the forum:

There are numerous types of anxiety medication. If you want immediate relief Xanax (alprazolam), Valium (diazepam), Ativan (lorazepam) work well. My mom was prescribed Sertaline (Zoloft) 50mg daily and Xanax 0.5 mg as needed. Prozac ( fluoxetine) is a popular prescription drug to treat anxiety & depression too. It is called the 'Happy Pill'. It's really does wonders too!

There are medications for anxiety.
Discuss with her doctor.
As with many medications like this it is trial and error until the proper medication and the proper dose is found.
AND it is VERY important that the type of dementia is properly diagnosed.

This is a discussion to have with whatever doctor has seen her for her ALZ/dementia. If you don't get any satisfaction with that doctor (and if they are only a GP) then take her to a gerontologist or geriatrics specialist to discuss meds as an option.

You don't give much info, such as what you've been doing to address the fidgety and anxiety behavior so far. This info would be helpful.
