Call the police dispatch to let them know there is a person there with dementia. That he is at times extremely agitated. Then it there is a call to respond to your home at least dispatch will be able to provide the officers a heads up on the people living there.
Has he confronted the neighbors? It's VERY common for those with dementia to think people are stealing from them. Sometimes it's the only answer that makes sense to why they can't find their things!
I would let the neighbors know hubby has dementia and thinks people are stealing from him. Should nip any issues in the bud.
The neighbors do know about his dementia, but this particular neighbor doesn't like my husband, especially since he did confront them. They'll be patient to a point, because they do like me.
If he is arrested for violent behavior, ask the dispatcher to send out someone who is trained in mental health issues. Explain to the police that your husband has been diagnosed with dementia.
