My mother had over $900 and a trust fund in a nursing facility in Concord. They're trying to say that she didn't have the trust fund and I know she did because one of the workers called me and told me that it was there. How do I go about retrieving this money from the nursing home? Am I entitled to it and is it too late to get it since she passed in February of 2020?

Was Mom on Medicaid? If so a small amount of her SS money was placed in a Personal Needs Acct if the NH was payee of her SS. How do you know how much she had, did you receive a statement?
Social Services oversees PNA accounts. They should be able to help you.
I had to have a short certificate to handle Moms stuff after she passed. This certificate is proof shows your allowed this money to be placed in Moms estate. That and her Death Certificate should be enough to get a check. Do not expect them to write you a check then. My Moms acct was kept off site.
I just read the following Documents I had saved. According to both there is a specific time that that the claim needs to be made. If not done in that time, a check is sent to a Government agency. They also say that the person listed as POA or contact on paperwork is notified that money is at the NH. If you have called there recently, the money may not be there. It may be being held by the Gov Agency. Maybe the home can give u a number to call. If so, have Moms SS# available and birthdate.
Here is a Gov site explaining PNA.
