Your best bet is to call Brookdale in your area to see what is the cost. Cost would depend on what level of care one needs.
If one is able to take care of themselves, there would be Independent Living which is set up as an apartment with full size kitchen, living room, bedroom and bath. If one needs a bit of help in dressing, bathing, etc. than that would be Assisted Living. If one has memory issues, then there would be Memory Care.
I think Brookdale is nationwide, so cost will vary from area to area. Also find out what does the rent include, such as electricity, cable, landline, housekeeping and linen service. Possibly dinner in the main dining room, or maybe all 3 meals.
Ask what type of activities are available? Is there a nurse available around the clock? A community bus that once a week does to a grocery store and other stores? If the bus takes residents to the church of their choice.
