What to do when visiting a person in a memory care folowing strokes?

Mysteryshopper Jan 2023
Take something interesting with you such as a book, craft, family heirloom, etc. It will give you something to talk about rather than you possibly struggling to think of something if you're nervous or self conscious. If they can respond to you then just see where the conversation takes you. If they cannot respond then just be prepared to do the talking or be ok to just sit quietly. This is ok too.

It’s wise to keep your visit short. They tire more easily after a stroke or any other illness. Keep that in mind and leave before it becomes noticeable.

The same thing you did before they had a stroke. Talk to them, read to them, play music for them, sing to them, take them for a walk in their wheelchair around the facility or outside if applicable, and just love them.

Bring snacks, small gifts, hold her hand, make small talk, stroke her hair, let her know you love her, etc. What would you 'do' during a hospital visit or the like? Just visit, stay for a while and then say your goodbyes.

I'm not sure what your question really is; it's nothing more than a title with no details.

Best of luck.
