Medicare pays for emergency transport so does Medicaid. Medicare will be billed first and then the Medicaid provider and they should pay it all. For my Nephew his Medicaid in Horizon of NJ. He gets a book every year telling him what his benefits are. You can always call the 800# on his card to find out for sure.
The problem here in the US there are just too many plans out there for us to be able to really answer ur question. There is traditional Medicare with a suppliment needed for prescriptions, dental, and vision. With you its Medicaid that covers everything. You really need to contact the suppliment to see what they cover. Most only pick up the balance Medicare leaves. I think Medicaid is now allowing Medicare Advantages. Who different ballgame. I had United Health call for my Nephew the other day trying to sell him, I am sure, a MA policy under Medicaid. I told them they cannot give him anymore than he gets. He was born disabled so not sure if this is why he pays no co-pays, deductables or prescriptions. What more can they do for him...A food card I was told. I finally had to say that his caseworker told me without her permission, he cannot change insurances. She hung up.
When medically necessary almost certainly yes. And if it does NOT pay, and the person has no funds, then it is yet another bill to add to the pile. Social Security and most retirement monies cannot be sought for judgement in a court of law. More details will always get better answers on Forum. I wish you the best.
