In Jan, there was a discussion about handling affairs.

It covered SS cancellation, and putting a packet together with med info, and other important info. How can I find it?

This is a list from another site:

Put together a detailed document with the following:
1. Where all important documents are located - Will, POA, health care directives, prior tax returns, passports, birth certificates, SS #’s, vehicle titles, house deed, etc.
2. Financial accounts - Type of account, location, account number
3. Contacts - Attorney, financial advisor, doctor, accountant, auto/home insurance carrier and agent, etc
4. Medical and prescription insurance provider and account numbers
5. Monthly bills and how they are paid - Charged to cc, pulled from checking account, by mail
6. List of subscriptions
7. List of active credit cards
8. How taxes (income and property) are typically paid - Quarterly estimated, withholding, annually
8. Other important information - Garage code, alarm code, where important passwords are kept, etc

To be blunt, Social Security gets cancelled so fast, the body isn't even cold. There's nothing you need to do. The funeral home reports it.

Why would you want to cancel SS? If because of a death, that is done by the Funeral Home.
