In this instance though the resident is leaving the facility. I don't see why if you quit ur job you can't work for them.
I can see if u work for an agency. The client wants to quit the agency and hire u. The client probably has a contract saying they can't do this. You may have a similar contract. But her you are working for a facility. You have the right to quit and work anywhere you want, The resident is leaving the facility and has the right to hire you.
If there are employment and resident contracts, you need to read them.
What does your employment contract say? Most likely there is a time clause in it stating that you can't take work with any of their clients privately for a certain amountn of time after you leave their employ. The way to get around that nonsense is to have the family pay you in cash until the time clause expires. Read the fine print of your employment contract.

What do you mean by "having problems" with the company... did you sign a contract with them? If so you should read what the contract says about what you are now doing.
