Is it true that some elderly men with benign enlarged prostate experience intermittant bleeding and passing blood clots?

MACinCT May 2023
Seek a urologist. Worst situation was my brother at age 62. He ignored passing of clots for several months until he could not urinate for 2 days. Long story short: he put himself in renal failure and we found out he had stage 4 bladder cancer. He only lived for another 6 weeks

No, it's not normal. Please speak to a doctor. I'm a man, and I have several elderly friends with benign enlarged prostates, with no bleeding.

Nell, please let us know what the doctor says. Hoping your husband is okay.

I would say since you know its benign you see a Urologist? Enlarged prostates are serious. They can block the urethra and then u can't void. My DH has never had the problem you describe. You need to call the doctor now.
