I agree with Alva. Stress alone will do a number on our minds and bodies. You need a full physical. It just may be your potassium is low. Maybe B12 it iron problem. You need to be upfront with your doctor.

Call your local Office of Aging for help.

Barb,
I recommend you start in your own Doctor's office. You have lots to figure out here.
I would tell the doctor that you are experiencing being overwhelmed with the care of your hubby, and that you are uncertain whether it is anxiety, exhaustion, or WHAT, but you need his help examining you to ascertain what's up.

While visiting your MD ask for his recommendation of a Licensed Social Worker you can see to help you to iron out what help there might be for you.

You say there is no help from your husband's family. I don't know the circumstances round that. Are your husband's children there, but estranged from him? They need to be informed that the two of you are in dire times here and need a family conference with them if they are at all amenable to that.

This weeks AARP magazine tells of their volunteer help line for finding local services and organizations that can help elders. The way it works is you call, leave you number and a good time to reach you, and they have a volunteer familiar with your area call you back: the number is 888-281-0145. I haven't used this, but AARP is usually a good helper for elders.

I wish you the best, and welcome to the Forum. Don't put any of your own contact information here, but try to fill your profile in completely to let us know yours and your hubbys current life.

Barb, do you mean you have a long term care policy?

Can you find your tax return from last year? Your premium should be listed as a deduction.
