I am now in charge of all our finances. How do I have my name added to my DAV husband's VA loan?

Our first home was bought on the GI bill and only DH's name was on the title. When we refinanced, we went conventional and I was on the title.

Of course, I trusted my DH, but had something happened to him,IDK what would have become of the loan.

Attorney time! Probably a half hour with one could make things clear.

What is the loan for? Your home? Need more information.

You need to talk to an Eldercare Attorney.
The fact that your name is not on the property may be more of a problem than just the VA loan.
Example...
I was not on the deed to the property/house my Husband owned. I was not able to sell the house and put the money from the sale of that house towards the house that I purchased when the other house was not safe for him. I had to "charge him" for his portion of the mortgage, half the food bill, half the gas, electric and any other household expense. Once the old house sold all the money went into his account and I could deduct monthly (keeping all receipts in case the court wanted to review them)

More questions but no answers for you. Is it only the loan in his name or the title to the house also? Do you have POA to pay the bills? Is there a will so that you know what happens to the house when he dies? These are more important than who is on the loan. I don't know how to get the loan moved to your name but that may not be your best strategy because then you could be responsible for paying a mortgage on a home that is not yours! The title determines ownership, not the loan. You should speak to an elder attorney to get some paperwork issues cleared up.
