Sorry for my wording, but you are not the first one who has brought this up and it perplexes me that so many people are bothered enough to post about it.
I don't get why so many people get bent out of shape about this, it's been happening as long as there has been a forum. Newbies find the site because it turns up in their web search, they read whatever it is that caught their interest and then they feel compelled to comment. All threads remain open for something like 6 months (not sure) so as long as even one person posts something periodically the thread will never die. If you tire of having things showing up in your feed that have been resolved you can easily stop following those threads.
Returning to add that AgingCare also has a presence on social media and they repost many of the more current questions there in order to drum up interest.

Similar questions are thrown into the rotation no matter how old they are because the topic may be of interest to some.
