Revoke my POA responsibility.

I would like to revoke my responsibility as POA for my brother, and know other family wants to take over or help with caregiving. What will happen next??

First, having POA does not mean your the Caregiver. For Financial POA you make sure his bills are paid. If aides are needed you pay that out of brothers money. You pay for nothing. Medical POA means you carry out his wishes.

If you do not want to care for him anymore than don't. If he has no assets, should be easy to get him into a Nursing facility with Medicaid paying. Talk to a Medicaid caseworker. The other brother who sort of helps, there are resources where he can get Senior bussing to take him to appts and shopping. Groceries can be ordered on-line and delivered.

You have too much on your plate. If u give up POA, no one can be assigned because of brothers Dementia. But like I said POA does not mean u need to physically care for him.

Thank you so much for the much needed information. I texted the answer to my siblings who left everything for me to handle.
