Why is husband recently worried that I will hurt myself doing routine chores?
Things like being worried I’ll cut my foot off mowing lawn.

My husband is the same way. He is 74 and I am 56 and he is always worried about me getting hurt. He is the accident prone one.

The elderly get crushing anxiety a lot, especially if he has dementia.

I would guess that if you got hurt, he would worry about being able to take care of you, and taking care of himself.
