My parents were both in and out of the hospital for about a decade before they passed. It's hard to go into a lot of detail of how messed up things were. Many people who work with disabled, elderly people seemed to do it for other than altruistic reasons or to make an honest living. Anyways, I'm just wondering what you experienced and how you helped yourself feel better if your parents were chaotic in their last years and treated you terribly and like they didn't trust you even though you were trying to make sure they were safe and getting good care. Thank you in advance

I did seek therapy when I cared for my mother. I feel that if we suppress our emotions, then we will create future problems.
