My grandmother is 97. She has been living w me for a number of years and I have been her caregiver. She requires a SNF.
My own physical health is now preventing me from caring for her. Financially, I use every dollar she receives from social security and her pension to her care. But we can’t afford to hire anyone, or send her to a SNF like she requires.
I don’t know where else to turn. Are there options to turn her over to the state for care? We live In California.

When she does go to a facility all of her monthly income will go to that facility save a small amount left over for her personal needs.
