Sleeping with dementia: Has anyone else noticed this?

My husband is in the moderate stage of Frontal Lobe Dementia. Lately, I've noticed that while he is sleeping he always has a look of anguish on his face. He claims not to be in any pain. Has anyone else experienced this? My husband is only 60 years old. He was diagnosed at 57.

Google the following:

"Facial grimacing during sleep".

There's a wealth of information about grimacing in sleep online, and it can be as simple an explanation as facial tics that are quite common. Real point is that you may never have a clear answer as to the real cause; difficult, as you can imagine, to research.

It is possible that he is dreaming and the faces he makes are a result of that.
If you have asked and he says he is not in pain I would trust that.
If you watch his face while he is awake have you noticed the same look at any time?
Does he exhibit any other signs, a wince, a furrowed brow, flinching, any of these might indicate pain.

He doesn't really do this while he is awake. Thank you.
