Purewick setup recommendations to prevent spills?

The online promotional images for Purewick all show pictures of folks snoozing peacefully in soft light while the Purewick canister sits upright nearby on a nightstand.

I'm picturing pee all over the floor.

Can I put this thing inside a deep bin so that if it tips or leaks the urine will land somewhere other than the carpet? Has anyone devised a setup for making the canister more secure? (I bought the battery model, which perhaps allows for more options?)

I don't have anything to hook it to as in hospitals and I'm not sure that setup would even provide the peace of mind I'm after.

I'm thinking more along the lines of placing it in a heavy, lined trash bin next to the bed.

Thoughts/recommendations?
