How to cancel mail?

My LO (sister) gets a ton of mail from charities she’s contributed to in the past but isn’t in a position to help now. Has anyone found an easy way to cancel other than contacting each by mail?

I contact each charity either by phone or email and tell them my dad has dementia and to take him off their contact list. Most say they will “but it will take 12 weeks.” Meanwhile they have sold his info to other charities. It’s a game of whack a mole. Good luck.

If they have a stamped, self-addressed envelope included, put the paper with the address on it where they see it as soon as they open the envelope. Circle the address and put "Take me off ur mailing and call lists" include any junk they had in the original envelope.

If no self-addressed, see if there is a website (should have email) or email listed. If so, write them saying you want no more mail from them at this address...then type the address exactly how it is written. Also say no mail is to come to any name associated with this address.

Buy no magazines. They sell your info. Enter no contests, they sell your info. No surveys. No requests for catalogs.

There really is no easy way. But I cut my Moms down and mine alot. Mom passed but I only get mailers from local businesses and thats Ok.

Here is the website to the Federal Trade Cimmission.

Another option is to have all mail to go to a PO box that you control.

Write "return to sender" on the letters and send them back. They will get the hint.
