When one comes into the ER for acute CHF, morphine can be a standard. Why do you want to "play" doctor and deprive your LO a medication to reduce discomfort and allow for more suffering?
I know that due to the much publicized overuse of these drugs many people are terrified of them but opioids can help with breath hunger (Dyspnea) as well as any pain associated with end stage heart failure, end of life is not the time to worry about things like addiction.

I can’t tell what your mom’s age is. You need to correct a typo. Her age is listed as -911.
If she is dying and is receiving hospice care, morphine use is appropriate and commonly used.
