Sorry that you felt Need was not nice but many people come here thinking Aging care is an agency. We are a forum of Caregivers, past and present. We share our caregiving experiences with each other. Members arecfrom all over the US, Canada, UK, Austrailia and other countries. So you see, it would be hard for us to help u find a sitter. All we can to is point u in the right direction. Which would be an agency. Office of Aging may be able to help, but this is a holiday and its going to be hard.
Why are u stuck with finding someone for FIL. No husband or other children to help?
Try care.com? This isn't a place to hire from, just a Forum of caregivers and ex-caregivers giving advise to those with questions. Good luck in finding someone in your area.

I would recommend calling agencies and trying that route or contact Assisted Living facilities and find out about respite care.
Good luck getting this sorted out.
Have you called Assisted Living Facilities in your area?
How much care does your father need? Would he be okay with a neighbor checking on him once a day?
Is there any possibility you could take him with you?
Since this is your FIL, can your husband stay with him?
