Go to AVVO and search in your area.

https://naela.org/FindALawyer. I am in SC. It looks like you are in a rural area and might have to travel 50 miles to Greenville, Not all elder lawyers are part of this organization who are certified. Once you plug in your zip code you should be able to look up individual credentials. Those with CELA have higher qualifications.

You have asked 3 questions since the 11th. Questions were asked in the first one and not answered.

I just answered you question from today, but with not knowing about ur first question. You state in that post you had care of Mom and had a breakdown. APS was called in. Mom placed in a NH. APS has closed the case.

Are you sure Mom is now not a ward of the State? If so, your POA means nothing. If the State is legal guardian then ur POA is null and void. This means you probably will need to seek guardianship and that cost a lot of money.

Since we are a forum of Caregivers mostly from all over the US. we really can't help you find a lawyer in ur State. There should be a State website listing lawyers in your State. Really not sure what type of lawyer you will need if fighting with the State.

You should go online where you will see a listing of attorneys. Look by typing into your search engine the specialty such as "Elder Law Attorney" or "Trust and Estate Attorney".
You can ask for recommendations as well.
Check with your local council on aging or senior centers to see if any attorneys are listed.
Good luck.
