Get yourself licensed, bonded, insured and produce a clean background check plus recent references. Figure out what levels of care you can provide (ie do you know how to walk someone using a belt and are a fall risk? Are you legally able to provide any type of medical care, like giving them their medications or changing a catheter, feeding tube, etc.? Or will you be only a companion aid, who monitors, assists, entertains someone? Do you know how to engage with people who have cognitive and memory impairment? Are you willing to help them with hygiene and bathroom routines? Drive them places, run errands, do light housekeeping and food prep? Never take a job without a written contract that answers all the questions about what your pay, expected tasks and hours are...
Care.com would have more credibility but Nextdoor.com would also be a place to market your skills.
Do you mean you are seeking a job as a caregiver? Would you wish to work as private contractor? Are you bonded and have references such? Would you wish to work through an agency? There are many listed in your area I would imagine. If you wish to be listed in something like Care.com I would guess you contact them? If you wish to work for someone you could place an ad virtually anywhere, I would assume even in NextDoor?
I posted my parents’ need for a caregiver on NextDoor. We did not use an agency. We found very qualified compassionate people. You will need to check references. That is important.
