As people get older their taster changes. Example: my daddys favorite food was spaghetti and meatballs. As his illness overtook him, he wouldn't eat it. At one point he accused me of trying to poison him : ( ... Anyway, try adding salt, or Mrs Dash, to what they are eating or something so simple as a peanut butter sammich. Hugs
Are you the aide. Thisvis something the director needs to handle. My experience is residents are given more than one choice. Not everyone likes the same thing. If the resident has Dementia, nothing you say will change the fact, they have to eat what is placed in front of them. IMO there should be more than ine choice offered but the AL is not obliged to cook something for each resident.
You contact resident's family and tell them you cannot provide separate meals and if their elder is unhappy in residence they may have to consider finding other in facility care. When resident asks you tell them the same thing.
