Why haven’t you use regular respite care?

Respite care meaning  having someone relieve you for a couple hours a week. We all know that facility respite care is way too expensive XD. In my case, they are charging way to high hourly rates (lowest I’ve seen is $45/hr, highest $60/hr).

When my Dad had caregivers come in, a caregiving agency charged $26/hour and this was back in 2015 using the caregivers 8 hours a day. Chances are that hourly rate in my area is probably between $45-$60/hour now. Of course, the Agency was licensed, bonded, and insured which is expensive overhead for them.

It’s $26 per hour for home care here. When I had Covid in October and was seeking to get my mother to the dentist via a service, they wanted $150. Not an option for many people
