Is your shower handicapped accessible? Do you use a shower chair when bathing? I would call Office of Aging in ur County and ask them if they will come out and access ur bathroom. You may be eligible for a grant that will pay for the upgrades you need. You should have bars. A shower chair and hand held shower head. There are bars that go over the side of the tub.
or, join Nextdoor.com which is an intranet of your actual non-anonymous neighbors in your closest community. You might find a neighbor who is a retired or PT aid who'd be willing to help once a week. That's how my family found a person to shower my Aunt with dementia. She lived 3 houses away and came 2x a week to shower her.
You need to click/tap the FIND CARE option at the top of the page and follow the steps, just be aware that this site is affiliated with A Place For Mom. But most care agencies have minimum hours so once a week may not reach that amount.
I think that will be difficult. Especially on a daily basis. Most agencies, and indeed most care workers honestly require some sort of minimum. If you can do your showers three times a week, and other days sponge bathe, and if you can make use of workers for another few hours you may fall within the minimums for some careworker. I would contact such places in your area as Visiting Angels and Care.com to see. You might also try nextdoor if that's available where you live. Best of luck to you.
Why are so many people asking about something they need to hire locally? We are an international group trying to care for family or friends. You need to search on your own. Start with caregiver services, but they usually want a minimum of 4 hours. You can also call your local social services for suggestions.
