It is either out of pocket or you can ask social services if there are vouchers for a couple of days....each year. Medicare covers medical insurance just like you carry....nothing else
Check with your local Senior Service Center. They may have an Adult Day Program and they may have "grants or funds" that might cover some of the cost. It would depend on if he would be eligible for programs they have. If your husband is a Veteran the VA may also cover the cost of an Adult Day Program. check with your local Area Agency on Aging and see if there are programs that might help.
This from the internet: "Unfortunately, Medicare does not cover the cost of custodial care or adult day care unless the patient has been officially admitted to hospice care."
This is my experience of it as well. You might call 1-800-Medicare or check in your Medicare handbook for 2024 which was mailed I think to us all, but I doubt you will find coverage for daycare. I would consider stopped physically in to some day care facilities that you know of, and also checking your local council on aging to some ways to find out how you can get assistance with coverage. Some supplemental advantage plans may have some coverage? Call your supplemental insurance.
I wish you good luck in your search and hope you will share what you find out on AgingCare so as to help others.
