Both these are health insurances that will not pay you. Medicare has an intermediate program but thats just in home services. May give you some time to yourself. Medicaid may have a program. Make an appt with Social Services in Moms County to see if she qualifies.
She can pay you directly but I strongly suggest a written contract, and a consult with an elder law attorney who is familiar with the laws surrounding paying for caregivers would be worth the fee.
Bobbie, I don’t know of any programs off hand through which you could get paid through Medicare. (People in some states on Medicaid — different than Medicare— can be eligible for a program that can pay family caregivers.) But I would recommend contacting your county’s Area Agency on Aging to see if there is any assistance or programs in your area that could help. (Check your county’s Health and Human Services website.)
I hope you are able to find some helpful information.
