90-year-old father defecating everywhere and not wanting to clean himself.

Earlier today my father had some sort of weird episode. I saw him walk around naked around the house and was so confused I went in the bathroom and there was poop everywhere I was telling him to take a shower and he wasn’t listening and being very aggressive and it was overall a complete hell hole disaster, he has been living with my family for the past 2 months and he does weird things, like humming so loud from day to night, doesn’t listen AT ALL. I don’t know if this was a stage of dementia or something but it’s hell.

If taking clothes off, being confused, aggressive & incontinence are NEW issues, seek medical advice asap.

If unsuitable to physically take to an appointment or urgent care centre, try a telehealth appointment first. See what they advice to do. Could be UTI, other infection, stroke? Anything.

If your dad hasn’t had a complete, recent medical evaluation that included being tested for dementia this needs to happen as soon as possible? Meanwhile put him in adult disposable diapers as he’s now incontinent. Considering the aggression, consider taking him or having him transported to the Emergency Room for more immediate help. It definitely seems his caregiving needs may be more than you may be able to accomplish in a home setting, at least without extra help
